Carers Week

Carers Week

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

This year it will run from June 7-13

The University’s Parent and Carers Network (PCN) is running three events as part of Carers Week.

The PCN supports staff and students with caring responsibilities. We are one of the Equality Networks and we report to the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EDIC), which enables us to represent your views.

All three events are open to both staff and students and aim to make the carers among us feel more visible and valued within the University community. You don’t need to be a registered carer to come along: anyone with caring responsibilities is very welcome.

For more information on the upcoming events (or have difficulty accessing them) or any questions you may have around what it means to be a Carer, please contact Nic Stokes or Clémence O'Connor at parentsandcarers@abdn.ac.uk , join us on Teams (via the search box) or find us on Facebook.

Monday 7th June, 1-2pm

Your experiences as a Carer

Come along for a chat about your experience with some other carers from the University. Let the PCN know what support, resources and accommodations you would like to see made available for carers.
