Staff update issued 1 March
Dear Colleagues and Postgraduate Researchers,
Following a decision made by the University’s Research Policy Committee (with input from all School Directors of Research), the University has recently launched a new online training course on Research Integrity. The course is designed to promote greater awareness and engagement with research integrity issues, and aligns with the University’s commitment to the Concordat to Support Research Integrity. It also underpins the University’s current programme of work on developing our research culture, and demonstrates our commitment to a positive research environment to UKRI and other funding bodies.
Completion of this course will be mandatory for all research-active staff, professional services staff and technical staff in research-related roles and all postgraduate research students (PGRs) and is suitable for staff at all stages of their career (i.e. from postgraduate students to early career researchers and established research staff).
The course can be found in the ‘Courses’ section of MyAberdeen. There are six modules, each comprising a video followed by a short quiz (five questions). Each module must be completed in sequence to fulfil the course requirements. On completion of the course, staff and PGRs will be able to download a Certificate of Completion. The course does not require to be completed in one sitting.
Staff will need to repeat the course every five years.
