Protect Scotland App

Staff Update - 11 September 2020

Dear colleague,

As you will be aware First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is encouraging smartphone users across Scotland to download NHS Scotland’s new contact tracing app to help tackle the spread of Covid-19.

The Protect Scotland app is now available to download for free via Apple and Google stores and alerts you if you have been in close contact with another app user who tests positive for the virus. The app is an extra tool alongside the existing person-to-person contact tracing which remains the main component of NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect system.

We strongly encourage you to download the app and help us do all we can to ensure the safety of our students, staff and wider community. Please note the app may not work on older smartphones – devices need to be Android version 6 or newer or iPhone 6 or newer.

More information can be found here and, as usual, any questions should be directed to coronavirus@abdn.ac.uk.

Best wishes

Karl
