Update on MyAberdeen Ultra Course View
Last summer, as part of the VLE Project, MyAberdeen was updated to include Ultra Base Navigation (the first page you land on after logging in to MyAberdeen) and Ally (software to enhance the accessibility of uploaded files).
The final stage of the VLE project is the phased move to the Ultra Course View - a more modern and streamlined course area providing easier navigation, a cleaner more intuitive and mobile friendly learning environment, and easier to manage content creation.
Five Schools will move by August 2019 and the remaining Schools by August 2020. This phased moved is possible because MyAberdeen can support courses in the Ultra View as well as in the Original View, allowing Schools to move in timelines appropriate for them, and also allowing the eLearning team to better support Schools with the move.
The five Schools moving by August 2019 are:
- Business
- Education
- Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture
- Law
- Psychology
In order to support these ‘early adopters’, the Centre for Academic Development’s eLearning team are running workshops on Content and Communication, followed by Assessment and Feedback. School staff can then start designing their course areas for the next academic session.
Additional support will also being provided in the form of online resources and materials, engagements at School-level, online sessions and drop in sessions.
Student feedback is important, so we have facilitated focus groups to listen to what our students have to say regarding their course expectations in MyAberdeen. School-level working groups have been established to work with the eLearning team, to support, inform and monitor the move to the Ultra Course View.
