Foodstory opens on campus

Foodstory Zero has opened its doors in Old Aberdeen! The popular Aberdeen-based vegan and vegetarian cafe can be found under the arches of the Taylor building.

Foodstory Zero follows the same ethos, and a similar menu, to the main cafe in the city centre but with the added focus on zero packaging and a massive reduction on waste.

Lara Bishop, one of the owners, said:  “Our main objective is to make zero waste easy and fun for the customer. So many of us are so used to the ease of disposable packaging so we need to slowly work with our community to embrace this challenge to encourage reusable packaging and reduced waste and hopefully it will be a natural fit. We want the local community to be able to make a positive impact on the environment by simply have purchasing a takeaway coffee and some lunch.”

Pick up your reusable cups and takeaway boxes and head on down, but don’t worry if you forget as the cafe will have recycled donated takeaway tubs and cups. The café will be open weekdays 08:45-17:00hrs, with seating available both indoors and out.
