 ‘In Conversation with….’ is a series of online discussions with business leaders.  These bitesize events are aimed at providing direction, assistance and hope during these uncertain times. The events take place from 9am-9.30am (BST) on the first Wednesday of every month. Please note, in September the event will take place on the second Wednesday of the month. 

In September, we are delighted to welcome Emeka Emembolu, Senior Vice President of the North Sea for bp. Emeka will be discussing What next for the North Sea? delving into the future of oil and gas/energy transition and what that means for people, skills and the city. 

 

Emeka Emembolu

Emeka Emembolu is bp’s Senior Vice President for the North Sea region.

Emeka was born in Glasgow, Scotland. After receiving a degree in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Sheffield, he joined bp in 1998.

Emeka’s first role with bp was working offshore as a Production Engineer on the bp North Sea ETAP asset on the start-up and commissioning of the project. Emeka has since worked in a range of technical and leadership roles in key bp regions across the globe including the UK (offshore & onshore), Angola, US (Alaska), Algeria, Egypt and most recently in the US (Texas) as the Vice President, Reservoir Development – Gulf of Mexico & Canada.

Emeka now lives in Aberdeen, Scotland with his wife and their four children. He is passionate about STEM education and a keen proponent of technology to move our industry forward to the future
