Join us for an evening celebrating culture, art, and entertainment as part of the University of Aberdeen's Pride Month celebrations.
Together we will explore the theme of PRIDE in Belonging from the perspective of four phenomenal local LGBT+ creatives, in one exceptional showcase event.

Shane Strachan is a writer and performer based in Aberdeen. His fiction has been published widely, including Nevertheless (amaBooks), and his theatre work has been staged with the National Theatre of Scotland (’The Shelter’; ‘Granite’) and Paines Plough. He holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Aberdeen and he was awarded a Scottish Book Trust Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship for his creative work responding to the legacy of North-East fashion designer Bill Gibb which led to ’The Bill Gibb Line’, a spoken word film, exhibition (Look Again Festival; Aberdeen Art Gallery) and podcast. Hanna Louise is a writer and community arts organiser based in Aberdeen. She co-founded Hysteria, an arts platform for women, non-binary and gender-marginalised creatives. An anthropology graduate, Hanna is interested in personal narratives that speak to wider social justice issues and is passionate about creating space for marginalised folks to tell their own stories. This is reflected in her work with Hysteria as well as her own writing practice. Hanna recently won the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival’s 2021 writing competition (creative nonfiction category). Lise Bos is a trans and queer analogue photographer and mixed-media artist with ADHD. They received a micro-commission from the Aberdeen Archive, Gallery and Museums at the start of 2021, and have spent the past five months working on their piece Hame, a reflection on place and belonging in Aberdeen.
Mae Diansangu is a Black queer spoken word artist, writer and performer from Aberdeen. She is co-founder of Hysteria and a programme manager at Scottish BAME Writers Network. Her work has been published by 404 ink Magazine and she has been awarded commissions from the National Library of Scotland and StAnza.
