The University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, and Society for Underwater Technology are proud to announce that the OCEANS Conference will return to Aberdeen in 2017.
The IEEE/MTS OCEANS Conference and Exhibition, which will take place over four days from June 19 - 22, will bring together professionals from the global marine community involved in all aspects of the marine engineering and science industry.
When last held in Aberdeen in 2007, it brought over 1,000 delegates to the region and was the first time the meeting had been held in the UK.
The prestigious OCEANS series of conferences is recognised as the premier forum for the international marine community to meet and discuss topical issues affecting their work.
OCEANS is brought to Aberdeen through a partnership between the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Oceanic Engineering Society (OES) and Marine Technology Society (MTS).
The event will be co-chaired by Professor John Watson of the University of Aberdeen, who was instrumental in securing the conference, and David Liddle of the Society for Underwater Technology.
Professor Watson commented: “Following the success of OCEANS ’07, I am proud that IEEE/OES and MTS asked if they could return to Aberdeen in 2017.
