Items from Greenland and elsewhere in the circumpolar north with contemporary works of art are brought together in the Kings Museum, at the University of Aberdeen.
Opens Wednesday 8 February 2012
Created by artists Mark Eischeid, Jennifer Littlejohn and Malize McBride, with Jo Vergunst from Anthropology at the University of Aberdeen.
The exhibition is based on artists recollections of fieldwork visits from Scotland to Ilulissat, Greenland in 2010. It explores artistic and anthropological engagement with place, past and present, based on field research, artistic response and museum collections at the University of Aberdeen and brings together items in the University of Aberdeens museum collections from Greenland and elsewhere in the circumpolar north with contemporary works of art.
