Life Sciences and Law at the University of Aberdeen have been ranked in the global top 100 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2021.
Life Sciences was placed in 78th position while Law was ranked 81st in the league table, which uses the same performance indicators as the overall THE World University Rankings but recalibrates the weightings to suit the individual field.
Within the full THE World University Rankings the University maintained its position within the top 200 in the world.
The International rankings follow a strong UK performance in the 2021 tables for the University of Aberdeen, which is now ranked in the top 30 in the UK in all five major league tables:
Times & Sunday Times GUG (27)
Complete University Guide (26)
Guardian University Guide (20)
Times Higher Education World University Ranking (25)
QS World University Ranking (28)
Senior Vice-Principal, Professor Karl Leydecker, said: “We are delighted to see Life Sciences and Law ranked so highly in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2021.
“This strong performance follows on from much improved subject rankings in the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021, released last month.
“In addition to retaining our position within the world’s top 200 universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, the University has – for the first time in at least 10 years – achieved an average rank of 25th in the UK across all the rankings.
“We will continue to strive for further improvement in the coming years through the commitments made in our Aberdeen 2040 Strategy.”
