British and Russian researchers are sought for the development of the UK-Russia Arctic Research and Collaboration Network, funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the UK Embassy in Russia.
Implemented by the UArctic Research office (Northern Arctic Federal University, Arkhangelsk) the project is thematically focused on the changing Arctic from the perspective of Russia’s State Programme on the Arctic Zone Development and the Adapting to Change UK policy towards the Arctic.
The first project workshop took place in Aberdeen on 27 August, as a side event of UArctic Rectors’ Forum and International Conference: Conversations from the North. At the second workshop in Arkhangelsk the following topics will be discussed by British and Russian researchers.

- Biodiversity and biomonitoring
- Climate change adaptation
- Human dimension in the Arctic
- Health care and health services in remote places
- Energy efficienty and cold climate constructions
