The German Drama Group of the University of Aberdeen presents The Wave, a modern play by Reinhold Tritt.
The story is based upon a real experiment by an American High School teacher, which was also the basis for the successful German film Die Welle of 2008.
High school teacher Ben Wenger attempts to demonstrate to his rather lazy and unmotivated pupils the fundamental principles of how a dictatorship is formed. Despite facing initial scepticism from his students about his unconventional teaching methods, the story unfolds as his class evolves into a powerful, strong and dangerous movement. Just like a wave, the experiment’s ideology runs through the class and their teacher until things start to get out of control…
Come along and get swept away by an extraordinary experiment!
