Invitation to the University of the Arctic Online Seminar

Two twenty minute presentations will be given firstly by Ms Rauna Rahko-Ravantti on Sami teachers in Finland. Secondly by Professor Tuija Turunen on Indigenous research methodologies.

You are welcome to join this online Seminar on Monday, 8 February 2016 at 5 pm EET; 3 pm GMT organised by the UArctic thematic network on Teacher Education for Social Justice and Diversity in Education which will start a bi-monthly seminar series discussing the issues and topics related to the Teacher Network's foci.

The first seminar will focus on Indigenous topics and will be given by Ms Rauna Rahko-Ravantti and Professor Tuija Turunen from University of Lapland, Finland. 

  • Rauna Rahko-Ravantti will share her doctoral research titled: Sami teachers in Finland. A qualitative research on Sami teachers’ everyday life and agency
  • Tuija Turunen will talk about the theme: What can we learn about Indigenous research methodologies: Yarning as an example. 

The seminar will contain two 20 minutes presentations and time for discussion. You are warmly welcome to come along to this interesting seminar in the company of others in Room 427 of MacRobert Building, Aberdeen University, Scotland, UK where it will be hoped to extend the discussion, after the online sessions concludes.
