The Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC) put out a consultation survey on the Ringed Seals as a Species of Concern. The Inuksiutit project, in partnership with Inuit food advocates Sheila and Samantha Katsak, submitted a critical report on the consultation processes and the suggested listing of the Ringed Seal.
Digitally archiving knowledge about Inuit country food systems and promoting Inuit food Sovereignty: University of Aberdeen anthropologists Nancy Wachowich and Peter Loovers, in partnership with Inuit food sovereignty advocate Sheila Katsak and collaborators on the Inuksiutit: Inuit Food Sovereignty project (IFSNu) release this film they co-produced about Inuit harvesting rights.
