This week you are welcome to Politics and International Relations' discussion on the current United States Elections.
On November 5, voters in the US will head to the polls to elect their next president. President Joe Biden ended his campaign in July and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris—Biden’s predecessor. Donald Trump is seeking re-election after his 2020 defeat. As election day draws closer, numerous opinion polls track the campaign's impact on the White House race. But how reliable are these polls? Additionally, misinformation and disinformation, exacerbated by the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), are widespread in the lead-up to the election, making it increasingly difficult for voters to discern the truth. In this seminar, PIR scholars will analyze the US election results and offer insights into the current state of American politics.
