The School of Social Science would like to congratulate two of its staff members: Dr. Dan Paget and Dr. Stuart Durkin (in conjunction with Dr. Joy Perkins) for their outstanding performance at this year's Excellence Awards.
Dr. Dan Paget, Lecturer in Politics and International Relations, received this year's award for "Outstanding Innovation in Digitally Enhanced Learning" for his innovative online teaching style which centres around online discussions, online articles and weekly online tasks. Dr. Paget's exemplary planning and course design skills ensured that students in his online and hybrid courses were immersed in the highest calibre of teaching experience.
This year's Excellence Award for "Outstanding Interdisciplinary Course Team" went to the School of Social Science's Dr. Stuart Durkin from the Department of Politics and International Relations and The Centre for Academic Development's Dr. Joy Perkins. Their cross-disciplinary and collaborative module "Working Together: Employability for Arts & Social Sciences" (ED3536) prepares students for the real-world working environment by developing skills through industry placements and classes. Students had the ability to develop themselves and analyse their accomplishments through participation in projects at local institutions, charities and businesses.
The School of Social Science once again congratulates this year's recipients of the Excellence Awards and we look forward to future successes in teaching.
