The School of Social Science is pleased to welcome the first cohort of students into its new online postgraduate course 'An Introduction to Ethnographic Research Methods'. The course is designed for anyone involved in social research professionally or looking to improve their own research skills.
The course takes an innovative core skills approach that covers participant observation, fieldnotes, interviewing, collaborative work and the ethics of ethnographic research. Students also learn how to analyse ethnographic data and begin developing a new ethnographic research proposal.
Successful completion of the course leads to the award of 15 credits at postgraduate level. Dr Jo Vergunst in the Department of Anthropology is the course co-ordinator and he will be glad to answer any questions about the course. For more information, see the course page.
