The ESRC Festival of Social Science, organised by the University of Aberdeen, began with a talk by Ph.D. student Stephanie Garrison entitled 'Outlander Fandoms' at the Aberdeen Central Library. Her talk explored Scottish identity, the production of the historical drama Outlander, and what it means to be a fan of the programme. Stephanie's talk marks the beginning of the festival, which will bring research in the social science to the general public of Aberdeen through a series of two exhibitions and ten talks. The festival's full schedule, which runs until the 16th of Novemeber can be found here.
