Aims and Hypotheses

Our aims are to:

  1. Contact the SEATON cohort participants
  2. Ask the young adults to complete a respiratory questionnaires at home
  3. Invite the young adults to attend a clinical assessment which includes spirometry, exhaled nitric oxide, height, weight and waist circumference measurements, blood pressure measurement, collection of blood for allergy testing and completion of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression score.

Our hypotheses are that:

  1. Antenatal exposure to vitamins D and E will be associated with increased risk for early onset wheeze by 25 years of age
  2. Shorter antenatal fetal measurements will be associated with increased risk for asthma at 25 years of age
