Rowett Staff Seminar
Dan is a Lecturer in Health Psychology within the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition, at the University of Aberdeen. He joined the Health Psychology Group in 2014, initially as a research fellow. He is a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a full member of its Division of Health Psychology (DHP).
Dan gained a Masters in Health Psychology with Distinction from the University of Southampton in 2009 and went on to defend his PhD thesis at the same University in 2014. He has published in many of the key journals in Health Psychology, including Annals of Behavioral Medicine, Health Psychology, and Psychoneuroendocrinology.
His research typically utilises intensive longitudinal methods (ecological momentary assessment) and complex statistics to investigate contextual and temporal influences on stress and fatigue, clinical symptoms, and self-regulation. He has run several workshops, and a summer school, on intensive longitudinal methods.
Dan also contributes significantly to teaching on the Health Psychology masters here in Aberdeen, and various other postgraduate and undergraduate courses. In 2019, Dan became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
