So I have been asked to do a bit of a take over on the School Blog to document my upcoming travels to Australia.
For those that don't know me I'm Katie Wilde and I'm the Digital Research Services Manager who heads up the Digital Research part of Digital and Information Services, however I have a very close partnership with the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition in my role of Associate Director for the Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science and the Grampian Data Safe Haven Technical and Data Management lead.
Back in November last year I applied for the Curtin Alliance Mobility award and was successful, its taken quite a few months to get my schedule to align with those I'm visiting in Curtin but finally it is the night before I embark on quite a long journey (Aberdeen-Paris-Singapore-Perth), leaving tomorrow (3rd October) and arriving Saturday (5th October) to start my two weeks at Curtin University where I plan to meet with a wide range of Researchers and Service providers to see what they are up to and to speak about the Aberdeen Centre for Health Data Science, Digital Research and iCAIRD our Innovate UK bid.
I plan to update this every few days but if you want to keep tabs on me even more you can head over to twitter (@katiejwilde) where I will be documenting my journey daily so if you have any places I should visit or people I should meet please let me know.
(Warning there may be some sunny pictures although looking at the weather looks like I'll be right at home with some Showers planned for Saturday!)
