This project aims to compare different biological imaging techniques such as computed tomography (CT) and 3D photogrammetry using human archaeological remains issued from Marischal College at the University of Aberdeen. The CT-based 3D model will be used as a reference model for the comparison of the 3D photogrammetry models. This will enable the determination of which biological imaging technique is the most efficient in terms of cost and time, all the while preserving a good quality 3D reconstruction. This will be particularly useful, as it will result in the digitisation of fragile human material that could potentially be used for teaching Medicine and Medical Sciences students, without increasing the risk of damage to the original material.
