Ryan Humphrey has recently had his article working musically with care-experienced children and their families in the early years published in the British Journal of Music Education. The British Journal of Music Education is one of the leading peer-reviewed international journals offering perspectives and research on all aspects of music education. Ryan's article uses a case study strategy to examine the pedagogical approaches employed by community musicians when working with care-experienced families and the impact that such approaches may have on personal, social and musical skill development. This article is one of the first to published in the journal that explicitly looks at early years music-making with care-experienced children and young people, an area that Ryan has been researching and practising in over the past six years.
