Lecturer in music Jo Hicks joined a lunchtime show on BBC Radio Ulster celebrating chart-topping songs
It is seventy years since the first UK singles chart was counted down. To mark this milestone the Official Chart Company has looked at recent data to establish the most-streamed song from each year of release since 1952. This list doesn't tell us what was most popular at the time; instead, it shows shows what people in today like to pull out of the ever-growing catalogue of easily-streamed music.
BBC Radio Ulster's lunchtime Talkback show included a feature on the new streaming data in early November. Jo Hicks was delighted to join other guests, including Radio 1's Gemma Bradley, to talk about this unique history of hits.
