PGR student in Music, Lise Olsen, will be presenting her practice and research at the Meadow Mill Projects, WASPS, Dundee, during the first week of March 2022.
The exposition 'We Must Walk' explores in-between experiences while walking in the Scottish landscape. The work aims to present the traces of what is hidden and reveal ephemeral moments using sound, image, and text. Her practice-based PhD in Music explores the in-between experience that happens within immersive soundscapes. She believes that by defining the in-between, we can reflect on the ideas of space/time and our embodied experience. Lise became the artist in residence for The Moray Way in July 2021. Her practice involves walking the 100-mile circular route, collecting stories from the community, and defining the in-between-ness within a dramatic Scottish landscape.
'We Must Walk' is a presentation of her practice and research focusing on liminal moments, for example, everyday feelings, memories, and atmospheres. Lise believes these things are so fleeting and familiar they are often missed.
