Pete Stollery's COVID-19 Sound Map has been shortlisted for the inaugural Sound of the Year 2020 awards.
One of Pete Stollery's current research projects, the COVID-19 Sound Map (https://tinyurl.com/covid19soundmap) has been shortlisted for the inaugural Sound fo the Year 2020 awards in the Best Sound Tool category. The awards, co-promoted by The Museum of Sound and The New BBC Radiophonic Workshop, will be announced on Friday 2nd April on the Sound of the Year 2020 website (https://www.soundoftheyearawards.com/2020-shortlists-winners).
The COVID-19 Sound Map has been gathering sounds from all over the world (to date - 245 sounds from 24 countries) during various periods of lockdown and is designed to be a repository of sounds which have changed as a result of various government restrictions put in place during the pandemic.
