We are delighted to announce the launch of our Spotlight Professional Series designed to address key issues in industry including Intercultural Communication, promoting Diversity in the Creative Industries, and Innovation in Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

Conor McBride is an award winning filmmaker and editor, who tells stories that illuminate minority issues on race, gender and disability. Conor edited Matt Wolf’s Bayard & Me, a gay love story about civil rights activist Bayard Rustin, that premiered at Sundance. He also edited To Be Free, a short narrative film about Nina Simone, directed by Adepero Oduye with cinematography by Bradford Young, that has been accessioned in the Smithsonian’s permanent collection at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, as well as Unspoken, a ground-breaking documentary authored by Emma Zurcher-Long, a teenager with autism, that premiered at the Mill Valley Film Festival.

In 2021, Lance Edmand’s documentary The Seeker, which Conor edited, was to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. Conor has made commercials for many of the biggest brands such as Google, Facebook, Mercedes Benz, Verizon & Youtube. His work has been published in the New York Times, Interview Magazine, Document Journal on Nowness and NPR. Conor has directed two documentaries about queer gender identity, Untitled and My Own Private Rockaway. Conor teaches film editing POWRPLNT, a digital art resource for teens in Brooklyn.

Conor will share their experiences, professional journey and life after university. They will provide insight into how they overcame various barriers and fostered a rewarding and fulfilling international career.
