The Leverhulme Trust will fund a 3-year international research network entitled "What's So Special about First-Person Thought?" led by Dr Stephan Torre. The University of Aberdeen will serve as the lead institution in a research network that also includes ConceptLab at the University of Oslo (lead: Prof Herman Cappelen), Institut Jean Nicod in Paris (lead: Prof Francois Recanati), LOGOS at the University of Barcelona (lead: Prof Manuel Garcia-Carpintero), Tufts University in Boston (lead: Prof Dilip Ninan), University of Oxford (lead: Prof Ofra Magidor), and University of St Andrews (lead: Dr Simon Prosser). The project will investigate the nature and philosophical significance of first-person thought and the self. Research activities will include annual conferences, public lectures, research visits, a project website & blog, and an online reading group.
