Success with the Ksenija Hribar Award
Jasmina Založnik, PhD candidate in History of Art, was recently awarded the Ksenija Hribar Award for her work as a critic, theorist and dramaturge. The professional award, named after the Slovenian dancer and teacher, is granted annually, by the Society for Contemporary Dance in Slovenia, following an open call for nominees. Award winners are then selected by a committee that determines which of the candidates merit recognition for special achievement. The purpose of the award is to promote the development of the field of contemporary dance art, and to motivate and reward the work of talented individuals who make significant contributions to the cultural sphere in Slovenia. A statement released by the Ksenija Hribar Awards commission commented that “Jasmina Zaloznik is an indispensable part of Slovenian dance scene, for her rich theoretically informed and socially engaged writing, and in this way it provides that which the scene needs and deserves.” We wish her a heartfelt congratulations on this prestigious award!
