The Wellcome Trust has awarded funding to the Menstruation Research Network UK, led by PI Dr Camilla Mørk Røstvik in Art History. The funding will continue the work done to establish the network as place for interdisciplinary collaboration for menstrual scholars in Britain since 2018. It will cover four years of activities, including three large (online and in person) workshops for academics in the field in 2022 (Aberdeen University), 2023 (University of St Andrews) and 2024 (Liverpool John Moores University). This is a timely and exciting moment for menstrual policy and research, with the Scottish government passing its Period Products (Free) Provision Act into law in January 2021, and the Women’s Health Plan for Scotland just having been circulated.
