Meet the Artist: James Morrison in conversation with John Morrison
-
This is a past event
The paintings in this exhibition draw on the First World War but they don’t illustrate the events of that conflict. The pictures try to use the war as a way to talk about even bigger things. The titles always refer to the land, to the destruction of the physical world. Even when there are human figures present the paintings are not centrally about human activity or human history. The painter, Dr James Morrison will discuss the making and meaning of these images in conversation with his son John Morrison of the Art History department, and with audience.
