After Hours: Extreme Makeover marks the formal closure of Aberdeen Art Gallery for 2.5 years as part of a major redevelopment programme. This event offers visitors the unique opportunity to experience the Art Gallery as never before…empty!

Among other exciting events, Amy Bryzgel (History of Art) and Lisa Collinson (Scandinavian Studies) will be organising “Contemporancient” - a presentation of short performances by academics from History of Art, Scandinavian Studies and Music at the University of Aberdeen.

Contemporancient: Traditionally, the artworks on display in Aberdeen Art Gallery have hung on the walls or stood silently in the sculpture court. But art can take many forms! Experience short performances that capture and present ancient texts in a modern format, followed by a brief discussion of what performance is and how it works. Performance times: 7.30pm and 8.30pm
