In this First Half-Session of 2019/20 the seminar will read and discuss the first volume of Karl Barth’s account of the doctrine of reconciliation as found in his Church Dogmatics, IV/1, The Doctrine of Reconciliation (Edinburgh: T&T Clark, 1958) [§§57-63]. Both German and English versions of the volume can be readily purchased, and the text is also accessible electronically through the University library.

All are welcome, and attendance from residential PhD students in Systematic Theology is anticipated. Masters students in the MTh in Systematic Theology sit the seminar for course credit as DR503N ‘Readings in Systematic Theology’. All those interested in joining the seminar should contact Professor Philip Ziegler (p.ziegler@abdn.ac.uk).
