The Christian Ethics of Farmed Animal Welfare project got underway in October 2018, with the appointment of Dr Margaret Adam as Postdoctoral Researcher, and the first meeting of the Research Team. The first tasks will be to organize the programme of project partner meetings and site visits for the coming year.
It's a crucial time to be considering farmed animal welfare in the UK, with ongoing debates about what will happen to current welfare levels in the event of Britain's exit from the European Union. We're looking forward to producing the first academic monograph on the topic and working with our project partners to produce the first policy framework on farmed animal welfare for churches and other Christian organizations.
