James Leatham (1865-1945) was a printer, socialist pioneer, writer and publisher. He wrote the words to go with Skinner's melody. Skinner wrote the 'Gateway Strathspey' in honour of Leatham's periodical, The Gateway. The accompaniment is more suited to the piano than those that Skinner provided himself. |
