| Item Description | Final proof copy of the second tune on page 82 of the Harp and Claymore collection. Once the printer has set the music and text, a 'final proof' copy is printed and returned to the author for corrections. The corrections are marked in red ink. In Skinner's manuscript version of the piece (JSS0092), the composer was not known. Later, either Skinner or Greig found the tune in the 'Violin Repository', with the correct title - Johnnie Steele, and composer - J. Barnet. Click on the audio link to hear Skinner playing it. |
