Item Description Piobaireachd [pibroch] are the most complex of all bagpipe music, with a main theme (urlar) followed by difficult and exacting variations. This important collection was collected, arranged, and published by David Glen, of a prominent family firm of Edinburgh bagpipe makers, in 1880. The piper's Highland dress gives a good idea of the costume (including a large sporran, and a bulky plaid) which may have been worn when playing in piping competitions.
