Manuscript in Skinner's hand of a copy of his 'a Jig Strathspey 'The Gatherin' o' the Gunns' - [by] J. Scott Skinner'. To be played 'Merrily'. Underneath he writes 'For "Harp and Claymore"' -'. While the melody is complete, even to the fingering, the bass line in the printed version is almost entirely different, although still simple. Compare this with the versions given at JSS0218 and JSS0608. |
