Looking for something fun to do with your class during the last week of term?
We will be running an outdoor learning week during the last week of term where we will lead outdoor learning sessions in Cruickshank Botanic Gardens. For lower primary, there will be a choice between doing some sensory activities in the gardens followed by a flower survey or a minibeast hunt. For upper primary, there will be a choice between going pond dipping to sample invertebrates in our pond or doing some tree surveys to assess the air quality. The sessions will run for no longer than 1 ½ hours and it would be helpful to have additional adults for the sessions. Regrettably we cannot provide facilities for children to have a snack.
If you are interested in bringing your class along then please contact us for more details. The sessions will cover outcomes and experiences from the Biodiversity and Interdependence strand of the Curriculum for Excellence and it should be a lovely time of year to visit the gardens with everything in full bloom.
