We are delighted to announce our inaugural "Soil Summit" to celebrate the International Year of Soils.
To celebrate the International Year of Soils, Aberdeen Biodiversity Centre is pleased to be able to offer education staff, environmental practitioners and interested volunteers the opportunity to attend “The Soil Summit” - a morning event held at the Zoology Building. We will welcome research scientists from the University of Aberdeen and the James Hutton Institute who will give snapshots into the important role soil plays with regards to the environment and food security, for inclusion into your practice.
This CPD event will give you a rare insight into the cutting edge research science that is carried out in the local area, by leading experts in their field. Topics covered on the days will include the role of soils in flooding, food security, rainforests, and climate change. One of the key strengths of the event will be the delivery of a suite of topical issues in their context and a chance to see how science can be used to approach complex environmental issues.
This event will take place on the morning of the 24th April at the Zoology Building.
To book a free place at this event, please contact biodiversity@abdn.ac.uk by the 31st March.
