Schools from across Aberdeen took part in a mass tree planting exercise to celebrate World Soils Day, along with schools from across the world!
World Soils Day (Friday 5th December) saw schools from across Aberdeen City participate in a tree planting initiative, led by the British Society for Soil Science, with support from the University of Aberdeen and the James Hutton Institute. This is also a timely exercise in advance of the International Year of Soils, 2015, which will see Aberdeen host a wide range of different events related to this important resource.
The schools who participated were; Hazlehead Academy, Fernielea Primary School, Airyhall Primary School, Greenbrae Primary School, Quarryhill Primary School, St Peters RC Primary School, Dyce Academy, Milltimber Primary School, Northfield Academy, Danestone Primary School, Skene Square Primary School, Hazlehead Primary School, Culter Primary School, Abbotswell Primary School, Riverbank Primary School.
