Pumpkins donated to local food initiatives
Following on from our May Festival event "plant a pumpkin", entrants were invited to bring in their home-grown vegetables to contribute to a seasonal display. The prize winning pumpkin weighed an enormous 45kg and was grown by a member of staff at the University, Sheila Jones. All the pumpkins, including many grown by Cruickshank Botanic Garden were donated to Food Banks Partnership Aberdeen for use in charitable initiatives across the city.
