Microbiome, Food Innovation and Food Security (MiFi-FS)
As several challenges impact on our food system, it is more important than ever that we deliver sustainable solutions to achieving healthy diets for all, as well as a vibrant food and drink supply sector. This involves working across all aspects of the food supply chain from exploring production systems that will support meeting climate targets, to understanding dietary behaviours, habits and food choices that will drive change. Our research defines the role of the human gut in delivering food components with a view to improving health through dietary strategies and informs the development of healthy and sustainable foods that will contribute towards nutritional resilience.
