Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Health, Nutrition and Wellbeing Professor Jennie Macdiarmid wrote an article for UN Academic Impact exploring the ways consumers can be encouraged to change their current dietary habits.
Food insecurity, poor nutrition and climate change are some of the biggest current global challenges. Malnutrition for instance, which includes micronutrient deficiencies and obesity, has a devastating impact on health.
According to The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2021 published by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, over 800 million people went hungry in 2020.
