Dietary dilemmas over fats and cardiometabolic risk
Prof Lovegrove is the Head of the Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition and Deputy Director for the Institute for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Research (ICMR) at the University of Reading. Her main research interests include investigations of the nutritional influences of metabolic syndrome development and increased cardiovascular disease risk, including nutrient-gene interactions. Of particular interest is the impact of dietary fats, carbohydrates and phytochemicals on vascular reactivity, insulin resistance and lipid metabolism in different population groups. She received funding from MRC, BBSRC, FSA, BHF and from industrial partners, and she is the author of over 230 articles.
