At the Annual General Meeting of the Eighteenth-Century Scottish Studies Society (ECSSS), held at the University of Liverpool on 29 July 2022, the Co-Director of the Research Institute of Irish and Scottish Studies, Professor Michael Brown, was voted in as President.
Professor Brown’s term of office will last for two years, during which time ECSSS will hold conference sat the University of St Andrews and Princeton Theological Seminary. ECSSS is the leading international, interdisciplinary society for the study of the field, and is an affiliate member of the International Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ISECS). Professor Brown succeeds Dr Craig Smith of the University of Glasgow.
