The Journal of Scottish Thought, Volume 10 on ‘Aesthetics, Nature and Religion: Ronald W. Hepburn and his Legacy’ has just been published by Aberdeen University Press. This issue is a collection of papers given at a symposium in May 2018 at the University of Aberdeen to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of the philosopher Ronald W. Hepburn on 23 December 2008. Hepburn was born and educated in Aberdeen and was influential in a number of areas, most notably his seminal work on environmental philosophy.
Just as this issue was published, the death of one of the contributors, the ethicist Mary Warnock, was sadly announced. She died on 20 March 2019, her work having laid the foundations for special needs education and for the regulation of fertility treatments in the United Kingdom. Her article in Volume 10 of the Journal of Scottish Thought is among one of the last of her articles to be published.
The Journal of Scottish Thought Volume 10 can be purchased for £10 from the University of Aberdeen online store.
