This post will be based at the School of Engineering (University of Aberdeen). The University’s high-performance computing (HPC) facilities will be used along with other computational resources to execute the project. The team of academics and industry partners of the project will work with the post holder to find solutions for the challenges of two-phase oil and gas flow in tubular systems to mitigate the risks of gas emissions and environmental pollutions.
Job Description
This position is for a Research Fellow who will take a leading research role in an industry-funded project focused on designing tools and simulating two-phase flow in tubular systems. The researcher will be based in the School of Engineering at the University of Aberdeen. The postholder will be responsible for designing 3D models of tools (as suggested by the team) and importing them into CFD simulators for flow simulations. The project team includes a principal investigator, co-investigators, and a research fellow. We will work closely with industry partners, including Research & Development and Operations staff, based in Houston, Dubai, and Aberdeen.
Salary will be at Grade 6, £37,999 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
