As part of the Turing Connections initiative, every year The Alan Turing Institute organises PhD Connect, a 2-day national conference on Data Science and AI. This conference is designed to bring together doctoral researchers from across the UK to share research, develop their skills, enhance their knowledge of real-world applications, and foster interaction and collaboration at a national level.
Specifically, the event aims to:
- Establish new and enhance existing student-to-student connections across the national research landscape.
- Expose attendees to topics and people from different sectors (including industry, government and academia) to support their skills and career development.
- Increase awareness of real-world challenges in AI and Data Science while helping attendees identify potential innovation spaces in their research and gain hands-on experience with industry applications
This year the event will take place at Horizon in Leeds. A dedicated poster session will be held during the conference, and we have introduced the PhD Connect Best Paper Award. A panel of experts will select the best paper, and the winner will be featured on The Alan Turing Institute's website and social media channels. Additionally, the winner will receive a free ticket to attend AI UK 2025, the national showcase of data science and AI.
