Data Study Groups (DSGs) are intensive collaborative hackathons hosted at the Turing and bringing together organisations from industry, government and the third sector with talented multi-disciplinary researchers. Organisations act as DSG challenge owners to provide real-world problems and datasets that the successful applicants tackle by brainstorming and engineering solutions, presenting their work at the end of the event.
The Data Study Group challenges are:
- British Geological Survey - Identifying potential for carbon capture and storage in rock
- Transport for London - Identifying physical assets on the London Underground from the point cloud
- UCL CHIMERA - Morbidity prediction using preoperative Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test results
